The Review

Overall this palette is great. I know that initially it looks scary and too colorful to use, but try looking at each color individually. As far as quality, it's great. There are 2 shades (the middle pink and the light blue) that have iffy texture and pigmentation. Lots of fall out on those two. However, the others are buttery smooth and well pigmented.

What I didn't realize until now is that there were 8 different 15-pan palettes that were sent out for the December box, so not everyone got THIS palette (which is called i110A). The others are listed on the website.

Each shade in each palette is unique to the line, therefore can not be bought separately, and likewise, doesn't have a name for each shade, which sucks.

This box was a GREAT deal because we normally only get 3 or 4 products in each box, where this box had 15. 

This box is still available on the website, you can buy previous boxes for $25, which is still a great deal!

November 2012 Starlooks Starbox review and swatches

November's Starlooks Starbox was one that was semi-customizable. They sent out an email asking if you wanted the light, medium, or dark kit. I received the light kit. Please see the review at the bottom of this post.

Review

Eyeshadow Quad: I was so massively impressed by the pigmentation of the eyeshadows and how smooth they went on. I was also impressed with the colors they chose for this quad. These colors are great for everyday wear, and Almond (the deeper brown) works great to fill in my brows. There was one downfall to this quad that could easily be fixed. The shadows that are in there are not magnetized in there, so if you flip the quad over, they fall out. I'm not sure if the pans are missing the magnets, if the quad is missing its magnet, or if they both don't have a magnet, but I'm sure you can go to an office supply store and pick up some magnet stickers.

Lipstick: This is a great nude for me. I like that it's not super opaque, I'm not into opaque nudes because they usually look yucky on me.

All in all, this was a really great box to get. Definitely my favorite so far (I know I've said that a couple of times about previous months! They keep outdoing themselves!

I know for a fact the December box is going to be HUGE (as in awesome!) I highly suggest signing up today so that you dont miss out on December...you won't regret it!

MAC Taste Temptation Quad:

 Look At the Eyes is a silvery lilac color very similar to mac Crystal Eye shadow.
Stay Sultry is very similar to MAC's LE Thunder shade. *note, there has been 2 previous thunder shades. One was pink, one was a bluish purple.
Naval is a permanent pro shade with a great buttery texture and pigmentation
Carbon is a permanent shade as well.

MAC Taste Temptation Lipglasses: 

Good Times is a pale greyish lavendar color. It does not suit me.
Perky is a lovely pinkish lavendar with pearlized pigments.
Revenge Is Sweet is a pinkish purple that is very sheer. I layered a lot of product in this swatch so that you can see it's color, however, upon first swatch, it's basically clear with a tinge of pink. Not worth getting in my opinion. Perky is definitely the nicest of the bunch.

MAC Taste Temptation Mattenes:

Mattenes are by far my favorite mac lipstick finish ever. I was so happy to see they were bringing a few into this collection. All three shades are lovely and very opaque with a matte-satin finish.

MAC Taste Temptation Blushes:

Unconventional is a pale pinkish lavender shade that would probably suit nw15-nw25 and nc15-nc30 skintones the best. It may look chalky on skin tones darker than that. Otherwise, it's a beautiful color with a slight sheen (despite being named a frost finish by mac)
Passionately Tempted is extremely pigmented and is a muted magenta color. Because it's so pigmented, it's a little harder to work with and blend. Good for all skin tones, even lighter skintones. Can be used with a light hand if you're worried it's too dark.

Review:

I have been loving my starboxes. I think this is my 5th or 6th one and it's really great. It came with a full size lipstick, pigment, and eye pencil. If you don't know what Starbox is yet, It's a monthly subscription box that comes with 3-4 full sized Starlooks products every time. The lipstick - their lipstick has a great quality about it, it's very smooth and pigmented. The color Masquerade that comes with the box is a coppery red. They are very moisturizing on the lips.

The Pigment - The color Peddle that came in my box is a very subdued lilacy purple color. In my opinion it doesn't go very well with the lipstick that came in the box, but that's not important. It would go great paired with nudes, pinks, plums , etc. The texture is a little more lightweight than mac's pigments, but very pigmented as mac's.

The eye pencil - I got "gold dust" which is a metallicy gold color. Maybe it's something about the color, but this particular pencil is a little soft, so while applying the tip goes flat or breaks off really easily. Aside from that, the color is great. I'm not normally one for lighter colored liners, but I can see myself wearing this one.

Exactly what you'd expect out of lipglasses. My favorite is impossibly sweet because of its pink and gold glitter in it.

These are soft and buttery shadows with high shine to them. They have a great texture and a lot of pigmentation to them.

These fluidlines have a LOT of glitter in them. I personally don't like glittery eyeliners. They also make a good eyeshadow base.

This is my favorite type of pencil eyeliner -- the kohl power eye pencil formula. The colors are really intense and pigmented.

These have almost a chunkier texture than normal mineralize skinfinishes do. They have a metallic finish to them. Superb is too dark on my skin tone nc25 to use as a highlighter. Just a heads up for paler girls.

Well, MAC Nail polishes aren't the best formula, they chip after only a day or two, but the colors are still gorgeous.
